2008 Resource Directory Application Form Online

General Information:

The Breastfeeding Task Force of Greater Los Angeles would like to invite your participation in its 2008 edition of the Breastfeeding Resource Directory.

Special Note:  This application is for lactation support listings.  If you are interested in submitting an advertisement for product or services, please contact our Advertising Coordinator, Gwen Lipsey, at glipsey@breastfeedla.org.  

You may subscribe as a Provider of Lactation Services if you are a Licensed Health Care Practitioner, a Certified Lactation Professional, a La Leche League Leader, or a health care agency. Fill out the on-line application form appropriate to your designation before October 31, 2007. You may pay on-line with a credit card.

If you charge for your services, you will be listed in the fee based Providers of Lactation Services section of the Directory and will be charged the annual subscription fee of $150.00 for the print and on-line edition. If you wish to have a live hyperlink to your web site or e-mail address in your on-line listing, it will cost an additional $50.00.  

If you offer free or low cost, or Medi-Cal reimbursable services, you will be listed in the Low Cost, Free or Medi-Cal Reimbursable listings free of charge. The 2008 Directory will be available in early 2008 and your listing will appear for a full year.

In 2007, 75,000 printed copies have already been distributed to WIC clinics, hospitals, physician’s offices, childbirth educators, retail outlets, home care agencies, birth centers, HMO’s and at professional conferences. In addition, the Resource Directory listings were duplicated in the Wet Set Gazette, a free newspaper for expectant and new mothers, increasing subscribers’ potential reach to a total of 228,000 targeted households. Given that level of exposure, this form of advertising is a bargain. Subscribers report getting multiple referrals from the Directory and parents have posted messages to the Task Force web site expressing their appreciation. This free Directory is an invaluable service to prenatal and post partum women, their health care providers, and members of their support circle. It is also a good business strategy.
