Breastfeeding Works Project Co-Coordinators
The Breastfeeding Task Force of Greater Los Angeles is seeking two
qualified individuals as part time independent contractors to coordinate
the Breastfeeding Works Project in Los Angeles County.
The goal of the Breastfeeding Works Project is to promote support for
lactation in the workplace. The federal government has developed a
toolkit called the Business Case for Breastfeeding and a Train the
Trainer workshop.
California has been selected as one of ten states to pilot this toolkit.
The toolkit is designed to influence employers to implement policies to
support lactation in the workplace.
The people selected as Breastfeeding Works Project Co-Coordinators would
be trained at an all day workshop in San Diego on May 5, 2008. Their
registration fee and a per diem would be paid for by the Task Force. In
return, they would be responsible for training additional trainers and
working with the trainees to implement the Business Case for
Breastfeeding in Los Angeles.
Qualifications required: excellent communication and training skills and
experience supporting mothers returning to the workplace. Must be
available to attend the Train the Trainer Workshop in San Diego on May
5, 2008.
Qualification recommended: experience supporting employers to implement
lactation support policies.

Regional Perinatal Program clinical team, this candidate will work under
the direction of the State lead ( Breastfeeding Taskforce of Greater Los
Angeles) for the California Birth and Beyond project, to educate and
train hospital providers in a distinctive and innovative approach to
improving breastfeeding rates in the Central San Joaquin Valley. If you
